'07 GSA (14000 miles) rolled to a halt on the way home tonight. "FPC problems " I thought. Typical symptoms. Lucky I had a spare one in the top box. But on switching off then on again the bike starts! Removed the controller on getting home and whilst heavily corroded on the top there was no water in the recess and the terminals looked good. Cleaned it and lubed it and put it back. All OK.
And so I wondering if perhaps this wasn't the FPC? Isn't a dead one permanently dead? Any ideas?

Well mine went one day - middle of mini roundabout with awkward camber so dropped the bike as I got off. Would not start - called AA - by the time they got there it started and all ok.

Next day it started, then washed the bike and it would not start. So replaced the FPC and all ok - so in my experience it can be intermittent.

Many thanks both. I think I'll fit the new one in the morning before going on up to the BMF. I'll pop the old one into Balderstons and try get a replacement sorted.
