Spent over 10k with extras & on delivery i am told i get one key +plastic wallet key  spoken to customer care as it says 2 keys in manual & told you only get one key know, told them what i think (which is not a lot)

Got mine a couple of weeks ago and received two proper keys and a plastic one. There's another thread on this with more info on.

I picked up mine Thursday before Easter. Build date was 10/3/2005.

One key only.. I expressed my opinion to the dealer. He said that it looked as if BMW started shipping bikes with only one key from the 1st march as they only received an email about it around the 8-10th March.

Flippin' well cost £25.00 plus VAT for key to chassis number. Have to have that because of the immobiliser chip in the key.

As you say BMW wouldn't dare to pull a stroke like this with their car customers, would they??

I wonder whether the new R1200RT comes with one key or two?

Chris

£9.5k, 2 real keys, 1 plastic wallet key, ABS, pannier mounts, heated grips, semi-pathetic tool-kit, punture repair gubbins.........

Switching to smug mode.............

:beerjug:

PS. Go to dealer on a Saturday morning and wait 'til a lot of prospective buyers are in..then complain....politely at first...but step it up if you don't get what you want...

picked up March 12th .....2 keys.......and f.o.c to match the keys to the panniers...

there's a puncture repair kit ??

'kin cheapskates - unbelieveable

Will be interesting to hear what your insurers say in the event of bike being stolen - eveidence that you're still holding all keys and immobilisers is often required I believe - might get suspicious if you've only 1  . I would inform them now....

My 1200RT came with two keys and a plastic wallet key.

But the plastic wallet key is good enough for all normal purposes, isn't it?
