1100 GS ENGINE COVER

My 1997 1100GS has been ridden everyday now through five successive winters , and the front of the engine block is looking very ropey, with enamel bubbbling and lifting. The BMW embossed engine cover is frustratingly short, which gives rise to the problem. I'm sure in the past I have seen full length covers that go down to the base of the block. Am I imagining this, and if not where could I get one?

Same thing happening on my '99 1100.

I may take it off, get it blasted and then re-paint it as described on a recent thread. Would the blasting process damage the ally?

Bead blasting with glass beads should be fine.
