It's a single spark 1150gs. Riding home from work and first thing I know is having to haul the brakes harder than usual because engine braking poor. Was overtaking and then pulling back in behind a car. Big surprise and nearly rear ended him. Started to sound more like a single. Rode home about 2 miles more. Right pipe colder than left.
Anyway, plugs are okay, but a quick compression check tells me the right cyl has only 7 bar and the left has 13 bar.
Any clues? Rings? valves?
I'm keen to have a go myself, just haven't worked on a BMW before except valve adjustment and chassis parts.
I did think it had been high on oil consumption and it does seem a bit blue smokey.
Where do I go from here?
