Went and did it, flogged the 1200GSA to a nice chap off this forum and took my old Rocket 3 to Drysdales in Perth . So far I like it, can't see the problem with the indicators but they don't self cancel like a gs1200.
Dissapointed to find the alluminium Touratec panniers supplied by KTM don't have locks, easily remidied with 4 locks from Touratec with hopefully the same key (£50ish). Added crash bars and an alluminium bash plate which is a sturdy beast at 5mm thick, it has one major design flaw as you can't get to the oil drain plug with it fitted. So I whipped it off ( 12 bolts , easy off but needed pursuading to line up re-fitting ) Drills out and the relevant decorative cut out was enlarged to facillitate oil drain removal, hope the Drysdale mechanic appreciates the effort ! You can see it in the photo. As I'm from Yorkshire (originally) I baulked at the thought of paying £50 for a cameltoe so I made one :eek
Next mod is to graft on my old sat nav when the mounting bracket arrives

Side stand foot on eBay - was a bit unsure as thought it may be rubbish copy of genuine item as sent from China (took about a week to arrive).
However was pleasantly surprised as seems genuine quality so maybe they're just cutting out the KTM middle men suppliers.:thumb2

Raring to get out of the garage but " on standby " for another 58 minutes.
Chinese item looks good but the 2 pieces of ally plate and rubber gromits were for nowt ! Will introduce the bike to the west coast asap:flag
Now for the friday pm dilemma Bike or BEER

Nice one, congrats.:beerjug:

Make sure you get some more piccies for us.:thumb

HTR........:thumb2

What were Drysdales like to deal with as I'm struggling with my local dealer on a deal ? I don't think twice about hopping over on a boat if the deal is right.

Drysdales were OK to deal with, I did P\X a Rocket 3 which complicated the deal a bit but I was happy in the end .
Photos are a pain directly onto this site as my camera's lowest resolution wont upload, hence the only one that worked was the simple photo. I'll try something else !

OK had the hammer out and had a go at photobucket :blast took 2 pints and a bottle of red to work it out, let's see if it works

Thanks your nuttyness
Never test rode either the WC or the Ktm, just looked at build quality and the KTM was much more like the old 1100 GS. Built to last ......I hope. Initial impressions are : more power and it handles, but the front end dives so you need to be off the brakes and let it settle before corners ( unlike the 1200 GSA ) Having said that I ought to try sport mode with the stiffer suspenders:eek

I'm planning on a test ride at some point over the summer.:thumb

1190 adventure test ride

Great bike but Jesus it throws to much heat from the rear cylinder / exhaust ,is there anything to divert this or a diverter to direct more air into the rear cylinder??
No compromise between the new LC ,I know which is the real dual purpose tool and its not a boxer !!!
