1200 just cuts out

I think its a fairly crappy safety feature. Whats wrong with the sidestand/first gear interlock???

The sidestand thing is a pain. Means you can't have the bike running on the centrestand then drop it onto the sidestand.

Probably software written by somebody who's never ridden a bike.

Which sounds like a flippin good idea, given the fact it could fall over or you could knock it into gear as the side stand flips up (and other implausible things that would happen to me )

Living a sheltered life, I can't see why on earth you would want to do that. If I've got the engine running, I usually want to ride it rather than play musical stands!

Anyway, according to the manual, running the engine while the bike is on the stand is a big no no! It might burst into flames!

Wheel out bike, sit on it, turn key, put on gloves, thumb starter, kick up sidestand, ride off.

How much more complicated can it be?

I have noticed the same problem, I keep my bike in the garage and when i want to play out I open the garage door and start the bike on it's centre stand and then put my helmet on while it's idle'ing, I then drop it of the centre stand and wheel it backwards out of the garage, and before it's clear of the door it cut's out every time, I have posted a question on here before about the problem but got no response and thought it was just a coincidence. OH and the side stand is always down when i drop it off the centre stand and wheel it out of the garage.

I TOTALLY agree, the brain cuts the engine with the side stand down if the back wheel turns, it's a safety feature not a fault. Let's not introduce bogus faults and spoil the reputation of a fantastic bike that has a few genuine faults.

Mine doesnt do it anymore...anyone else noticed a change? I wonder if it was the software update.
