Just had to be recovered again (second time in as many weeks !!)

EWS again !

Happened to me 2 weeks ago in Germany and spoilt my holiday, 1200 miles later and it has gone again, just had to be recovered to my home address and the bike will be going to either BVM or Bath Road in the morning oon the back of a recovery truck.

Staerting to lose confidence now, this simply shouldn't happen once, never mind twice in as many weeks.

Any one else had it happen more than once ???

Will be writing a letter to BMW customer care this evening, I love the bike but don't want to keep expecting not to make it home or for it to spoil another hioliday.

What would you guys do if you were me ?

Doug:confused:

Saw the job being done, new box fitted just below the ignition switch.

Maybe mention if it fails again you'd like a new bike as this one doesn't seem to want to play.

I'm now certain that there are good and bad BM bikes. Get one of the "bad" ones and it's a heap of sh1t. As the 1200 is newer, you hear more of the problems, but IIRC there was as much anguish when the 1150 came out, and surprise surprise the "old" bikes conveniently forgot their woes and took the p1ss.

John,

Just started to draft a letter of complaint to BM Customer services !

Shame, but it has to be done, this is not acceptable and I didn't pay 12k for this kind of reliability !

save the letter as a word document ..then you can just alter the dates for each breakdown ive got six if you want one ....

BMW advise to keep keys away from the ignition key as it interferes with the signals.
And although they changed the EWS ring did they reprogram the canbus/ews system for all your ignition keys?
As it might not be the ring at fault
