Tyzer if the farmer can't swim it must be the Speedos fault...:D
Never seen any videos of Juergen Fuchs on a GS-LC on a track giving guys on real superbikes a hard time ?
I tell you what the GS is a very capable bike on the track because of boxer crankshaft position that builds up less gyro,TORQUE everywhere and T-L !
Only 125 hp and barn-door like aerodynamics hold it back on longer straights...
One slow bike...trust me it's not the bikes fault if you are slow on a GS !
Of course more power, less weight and 17 inch front wheel would make it even better...:thumb2
10 years ago back in the days of the R1200S which is basically a GS with different Tupperware you could run easily with GSXRs,Fireblades and R1's on track despite having 40 hp less...And that was because of the TL and not despite of it !
Of course in 2010 when the S1000RR came out and made close to 200hp made rideable by ESA/TC/ABS the rules changed...and even I defected...;)
But a good rider like Fuchs can still play with these guys on a GS...:thumby:
My last bike was zzr1400 ,the GS is slow end of ! However it's fast enough for me,most of the time but I do miss that bit of warp speed now and again. If only it had a 17inch front wheel !!!!

Boxerlost, that building behind is called a chateau.

It’s more than 30 years old ! 🤪

Where did you use that warp speed and how often ?

Not very often if I'm honest that's one of reasons I sold it but I knew it was there and it was fucking exciting when you twisted that throttle .

I’ve seen an H2 the same as Arsey owns go into warp speed and it fucked off big time leaving my SD GT and an S1000XR for dead which may not seem that much but the rider had a pillion passenger and we were on the usual standard of bumpy Ardennes roads. Admittedly the XR also had a pillion on board but the H2 was just leaving us in its dust.

It doesn’t help that the rider on the H2 has got a few TT and MGP Replicas, the XR rider still races and has a national licence and I retired from racing about 15 years so when we’re out together it can get a bit competitive :blast

Would any of us choose a 120 bhp GS with a 17” front wheel over the bikes we currently ride? No fucking way in the World because there’s no substitute for horsepower :rob

I totally agree but my aching joints and riding with my missus as pillion 99% of the time dictates what I ride these days! Still wish I'd not sold the ZZR, awsome bike.

Hmm, well there is that.

But my ZZR1400 Performance Sport had 210 BHP but shit at tight twisty lanes.

So handling is important, and torque, and traction, and skills, and environment, and weight, and age, and beards, and experience, and setup, and is my point made yet

That is about the ugliest bike I've ever seen.
Guess it was built prior to anybody started to use wind-tunnel.

Being over 30 years old I think the bike looks like it's well kept, but a good thing that we don't have to meet such a contraption on the road too often.
The sooner they disappear the better.

The H2 SX has ZZR14 power but handles . Taking mine to Asturias next month

Why do you guys use a post that is about the coming 1250 engine to show a restored bike of a different brand?

Not that I don't appreciate a good restoration, but the "Projects and restorations" forum would be the natural choice, with a description of what is restored and what is kept "as is", with perhaps some pictures of the process.

In order to confuse other people, you must be a master of self confusion. :hippy

Why does a Nordic weirdo come on a U.K. forum and talk in riddles ? Shouldn’t you be in the sauna or pickling some herring ? Ha det

Don't know about the riddles, but I was trying to compliment the restoration. But even so, this is not a post about old bikes, so why post here?

I really hope your taking the piss !

Knutk - I know Arsey can be a little hard to follow at times but he was referring to the chateau as being over 30 years old not his green motorcycle which is nearly new :blast
