Neil W ; you obviously did not read my post...indian G310 or Taiwanese in F700/850 engines are as appealing as KTM's that are Leady to Lace... At least the G310 is a cheap as the entry level Japanese bikes made in Thailand while the indian 390's commend Austrian prices...
Tanneman if your engine does not vibrate above 4500rpm and feels strained/slow and you have a gear indicator I would go back to the garage and have a second look...before for sure you don't have a R1100S...
Yes that is the bike I'm talking about and if the rumor is true it might even have 150 hp...
Miss the T-L but oh well like in real life you can't have it all...
Hopefully some things like center-stand and hard-bags find their way on the options list !

Having travelled extensively over the US, I’m always amazed at how utterly stupid most of those are on the west coast, though Boxerlost is on a different level.
If he’s such a blinkered BMW devotee, it makes me wonder why he only joined up here a few months back. I’m guessing he outgrew another forum with his utter stupidity and clueless postings.

Why should we not get exited after 6 long years to finally see some engine upgrades and maybe even an all new R 1250 S-model ?
Even if Bennetts is right 136 hp is better than 125 and 140 NM TORQUE is more than the supercharged blob from Kawasaki is able to manage and is KTW 1301 or Ducati 1299 Panigale level torque...
With VVL a first on motorcycles probably available at lower rpm and over a much bigger rpm band...
And now tell those idiots around the world who make the 1200GS the best selling bike over 1000cc year after year how crap and low quality the GS really is and that they are better of riding Afreekatweens or Leady to Lace KTM's with soon superior Chinese quality while they still charge Austrian prices...

You do realise that BMW outsource a lot of parts for the GS from China don’t you? In fact, a lot more than any other European bike brand.

And yes that is why I go to mexico every year...to ride and live without parental supervision for a few weeks...and use the power of the 1250 GS to the fullest extend...
Of course only if you are not an Arsey which Mexicans can smell out immediately...then you might get a ticket for riding a 650 V-Strom too fast or your head chopped of... As mexicans don't like gringos that act like Arseys but gringos that act like germans they do like...
They even like their motorcycles and ride a lot of GS1200 and S1000RR because they are crap and always break down...
