Hi Folks

Can I assume the caliper mountings on GS 1150s differed in their spacing from standard (1998) to adventure? My old forks had their anodising removed by an over eager shotblaster!! so second hand purchased and put on only to discover a big difference in spacing for mounting. Will the adventure brakes fit the standard bike as the adventure forks are in good condition?

Thanks

Are those RT wheels ?

The Answer is Yes they should be Plug and Play

"BUT" there are two versions of the Later "Evo" brakes Tokico and Brembo Both have the same mount dimensions

Tokico are much more pernickity and have less popular pads

Brembo are more Durable and have a better spares availability

Thank Feck I did recall correctly!

Brake pads - FerodoFront, platinum, FDB2125P, non ABS from 09/2002, for EVO Brembo calipersAssociated BMW part: 34117660448

Brake pads - FerodoFront, platinum, FDB2124P, ABS from 09/2002,Tokico calipersAssociated BMW part: 34118395858 Model fitment

The wheels came off an RS I think!

So in theory a newer set of brembos off an evo should do the job? I think the forks are 04 adventure.

Thanks.

The later tokico and BMW calipers have different discs - the tokico disc has a “skinnier “ disc surface.

So if I changed calipers and disc it should work or would I be able to just change to the newer BMW calipers and use the original discs?

Thanks

You can measure disc thickness to see but in theory BMW callipers should work as it is

It’s not the disc thickness that’s different, it’s the SWEPT AREA, .
The Ferodo 2124 pads for the tokico carrier are narrower than the Ferodo 2125 pad for the BMW caliper because the discs are different, nothing to do with the thickness,

So in practice I can fit the brakes from an 05 adventure ( as those are the forks I have) and if I use the Brembo from the 05 (evo?) I will also need the discs as they have a bigger swept area?

Thank you will have a look at this route.
