I am getting 56-57mpg according to trip computer on country roads around 40-70mph This dropped to 53 on my last tank which I attributed to carrying more revs in lower gears since starting to ride with earplugs. I use shell optimax and have done 7000 miles. What are other 2010 engine owners getting ? Whats the most anyone has gone between fill ups - I have done about 225 miles ? big man abuse or fellow nigels equally welcome to respond !

I have had 4 GS's and my latest 30th Aniversary is doing mid 50's on average.
They all have been about the same and use no oil, which indicates how I ride.

I'm just coming up on the first 1k miles on my new R1200GS. So far I am averaging around 45 MPG. I admit that while I wasn't expecting it to perform as well as my F800ST - average 57 MPG over the two years I had it - I was hoping for a bit better than that but I can live with it.
2010 GSA with around 5400 miles. Average 51.3 mpg - almost always on Super Unleaded - 97 octane only in Northern Ireland.

seems I'm not doing too bad then. certainly consumption increases on the motorway but 56 mpg and footpegs down regularly seems pretty good to me......
dealer also seems to think you should be getting 55mpg so I'm suprised by the lower figures quoted by some of you chaps...

I'm not exactly riding mine sedately and so far no serious motorway miles so I think it should improve once I get past the first few thousand miles.
Cripes, my 06 ADV has averaged around 45mpg from new and has 62k on the clock.
Best average I've seen is 59mpg bimbling across the US and the worst was 31mpg when I was a little late for a meeting

2010 GSA consistently 53 incl. across Europe, loaded and two up, quite impressed given the hills and higher speeds on autobahns.
46 ish with me only using harder acceleration. Impressive I feel in comparison with efi Guzzis given the bulk of the GSA.

All depends on the right hand, up to 4000 revs 56 mpg, hard revving down to 44 mpg

My 2010 GSA is saying 46 on the trip. Last filled up today, 237.2 miles to 26 litres before... whats that, about 41-ish mpg??

2010 GSA, 7 weeks old 2k miles, doesnt matter what octane fuel i put in it, i get 44mpg.
I am always testing riding it on one wheel to see if i get better MPG but it hasnt worked yet

Are you chaps re-setting when your fill up your tank? If you don't it will average - which is fine for your overall consumption.
If you want to know the average under different riding conditions you have reset the meter. Mine is about 47 mpg.
My 2010 GSA:
In Turkey, with wife and luggage - 58mpg (because of the low speed limits).
French and Italian motorways, with wife and luggage - 41 mpg (85 mph).

I've done 5000 miles on a 2010 1200GS and always get between 51 and 54 mpg over varying conditions. Near enough legal speeeds throughout. Happy days!:

Getting about 44 on my 2010 GS in London. Haven't reset the computer yet and I'll look that up unless someone has the reset procedure handy.
