2026 CB1000GT

It reminds me of the first Yamaha Fazer1000

Looks nothing like a fazer 1000

Looks similar to me
You’re fucking blind then 😜

In what way are they similar ?
The Honda has a completely different fairing shape and much fuller . Diffferent lights , totally different frame , tank shape etc .

Can’t really see any similarities apart from wheels being black and round 🤔😜

It’s nice . But the CB1000F is nicerer 😜
I agree, but if it was my only bike, I'd choose the GT as it is more of an all rounder. Long days of touring will be better with the faired bike.

Well I think that’s a given and pretty obvious. But as it’s not my only bike and I have two other Hondas to tour on , I went for the F as I prefer the styling and wanted something for ‘Sunday rides’ and pottering around in Brittany

Change the colour, remove the pointy bits and it's a very similar silhouette , I'm looking from the side.
Seat and tank profile also similar as is the frame.
How the fuck is the frame similar ? The Fazer’s is tubular and completely different . You really should book in at Specsavers

The new Honda may well be the better bike but I like the Yamaha's looks more, especially the exhaust. Also the blue colour and silver engine, the whole motorcycle just looks more sleek.

That is very tidy; i'd hang on to that one.

It would be interesting to see the wheelbase; trail and rake figures; the power and weight are pretty similar as i would imagine pegs; seat and bars triangle; all the things that count for a stable ride; and 20yrs earlier; i reckon it would take a proper back to back to really separate them; perhaps the mk 2 fazer with the cast frame and fuel injection would be closer to the Honda in real terms, but the silhouette of all 3 would be pretty close. Glad to see the centre stand is not an optional extra i would have loved one on my SX 1000. :beerjug:

I do love this forum .
Adventure Boy. Cancel your order . You need a 20 year old Fazer. You read it here 🤡

Can we get back to discussing the GT ?

I reckon it’s the spitting image of a gen 1 Busa

Maybe the OP meant a bike with sports bike derived engine with a touring type of seating position, high bars and the capability to be comfi and travel loaded up with panniers top box etc
if he meant they look alike then maybe the Labrador needs feeding LOL !!

If you remove the fairing from the Honda you might find they are more similar than you think.
Is the Honda's not tubular then?? :p

Why not start a thread about the Fazer then as this is about the CB1000GT, not about a 20+ year old Yamaha ?

As would I have done, had I owned as many bikes as you do. The F is the looker, no doubt.

There's no getting away from the fact there's an ex Fireblade engine in GT. Although it's been a retuned/detuned it still produces peak torque just shy of 9000 revs and peak power at 11000. Riding around at those revs is impossible on the road if you want to keep your license which means most of the engines shove is never going to be appreciated. I suspect it will too peaky for most. Personally I don't enjoy spinning any engine at those sorts of revs unless I'm on a track day on a borrowed GSXR/CBR

Am I not allowed to make a comment about the CB1000GT (which this thread is about) saying I think it looks like another bike?
I made a simple comment about it and someone has got very upset!
It's getting great reviews and I'm sure Honda will sell loads but we're all entitled to our opinions.

Can someone confirm if the frame is tubular steel?

You can comment as you wish but you seem insistent on confirming that the new Honda is the identical twin of the ancient Fazer.
You’re right . The likeness is uncanny .
And if you zoom in on the Honda there is a tube so you’re right about that too .
