ive just bought a 2720 from the GPS warehouse and the motorarrad concepts mount. will i need to update the unit when i unpack it? do i just download the latest update?

The unit was probably shipped well before the updates. Best check for Mapsource ones while you're on the Garmion site here: http://www.garmin.com/support/download.jsp

i did get mapsource with my GPS60CS, but i havnt touched it, this time i need to RTFM and understand it all, and what it can do. BTW, what does the mapsource software do? ive looked at it, but i can make head or tail of it...................

Mapsource is what you play with on the PC. It has it's own bugs as well hence it's on 6.11.5.

The Mapsource lets you plan routes, make your own waypoints and load them onto the GPS before you set off. Once you can get back, you can download any saved tracks back onto the PC.
