jesus - i was under the impression you only had to pay for the consumables at the 600 mile service
£204 at Chester...i bought my gs/a there last may and paid £105 for my 600 mile service there and i was gutted at that price(was the fastest 600 mile they'd seen up to then...4 day's...was a bit excited and had a rally coming up!)
so ssb it is
Have you asked or are you presuming this will happen?
The dealer should reset your dash to say the service has been done at 6k. The yearly is only there for people who don't do the required mileage i.e 6k on an annual basis!
Jeez I had no idea the 600 mile service is so bloody expensive
Welcome back to the world of BMW I guess
Mine's going in on saturday at Rainbow, anyone want to buy a kidney?
Just 'pulled the trigger' as the Yanks say, on a new GSA
Don't really want to trek the 200 miles to the supplying dealer for the first 600 mile service though
Just wondered what others have paid for this service when carried out at a non-supplying dealer??

Whats the going rate for an annual service, I have only covered 3K. The dash has started stating service required.
This is the information i was given by the guy at the garage, the yearly service is different to the 6000 mile one and includes new brake fluids, but not much else as far as i know.If both services come approx together he will do this for around £185-£200. The dash light is timed to come on 1 month before the end of your first year of ownership. This guy in Cardiff is a good bloke and well known in the area for his knowledge on BMW. So if you do just over 6000 miles in the year you will still have to have 2 services!

The supplying dealer will normally do it cheaper, AJ's would of been £100 if I'd bought it from them but as I saved £500 when I bought it by going elsewhere it was worth the extra £84 difference![]()

I'm booked in for my GS's 1st service on Wed. the 14/4
I asked about a courtesy bike and the reply came back, oh it only takes about an hour.
If that's the case where is all the cost coming from?
Best regards Stretch

I would hope your going to be there more than an hour as the engine needs to be stone cold for the first service...i was waiting for them when they arrived in the morning and didn't get my bike back til late afternoon(was given an f650 to razz around on in the meantime)![]()

If it's a 2010 GS with the twin cam engine then the valves are not checked at the first service, so it shouldn't need the bike to be cold to carry out the service.

What do they do that requires the engine to be stone cold??????
For a 1st Service????
Best regardards Stretch
PS I am booked in for 1300 hours
