Had a good trawl around on this site and on the net looking for info on the 600 mile service for the LC GSA. Found the link below that lists what is done but struggling to find any consistent info re cost. As far as I can figure out BMW's pricing model consists of throwing a few darts at a dartboard and multiplying which ever numbers are hit!!

Excuse the ignorance but this is the first BMW I've owned and don't want to be shafted by the stealership. Anybody willing to share what the 600 mile service has cost them or offer a educated estimate?

Cheers

Mine was about £150 iirc.

My 6k service was £134 inc vat :) ( as its less than a year old i think)

To give you an idea. I took my F800R in last week for its 600 mile service, £124.
For that, the bike had an oil and filter change. Oh and a number of checks which took one hour.

Yours taking more oil and having a more expensive filter I say about £160. Just a guess.

On my RT LC I got the Labour for free, and just paid for parts, it was around £70 (Including FD oil replaced).

You'll see it's very much a lottery when it comes to the dealers.

They just make it up as they go along, I was offered free labour on first service, then unprompted they offered the whole service free of charge

Anywhere between £0 and £200 depending upon your dealer and what you negotiated at the time you purchased your bike.

I just got a mental image of someone from the service department throwing darts at a dartboard in the back office and the service manager shouting "One hundred and EIGHTEEEEEE pounds".

Free with your first warranty replacement engine & gearbox

Some dealers appear to use the dart method whilst the more traditional ones use someone who can read it in the tealeaves , the high tech modern dealers tend to just charge you enough to cover the cost of the free customer coffee used that week

I always negotiate the first service ( at least) in with the deal of the sale , wether its a parts only , Labour only , or even free. One dealer lost a sale of a GS from me because he would not budge on his service price of £140.00

It pays to shop around now and not stay as loyal to one dealership as you may have been in the past

Had mine done last week at Bahnstormer Maidenhead - £90 (including a £10 charge for a loan bike)...

I paid just under £140 at Vines in August although they did knock 15% off that as they mucked me about on the day! I don't mind paying for parts but the labour should be free it is just an extra price rise under the table just like BMW moving the first brake fluid change to the first year service to get round the large number of people who trade their bikes just before the 2nd year when it used to be, brake fluid doesn't need changing after 1 year, no one else does it and most cars are 3 years, so another stealth cost from BMW!
