Aam gan oot!

Ah 12:34, just been to the Gym and saw this thread too late or I would have headed up for lunch.:(

Twas 12C and sunny in the seething metropolis of Seaton Delaval - a grand day for a ride.
First, as I was to traverse the notorious "Military Road" I needed to hire a "Sheep Spotter" - This proved easier than I thought:

I'd plotted a route to take me west then up Hartside from the Melmerby side.

Parked beside the Roman Wall near "Birdoswald"" between Gilsland and Banks.
Never been down here before.

Turned south through Brampton heading for Melmerby and sat-nag played a blinder.
The Quest decided this was the best way to navigate through the village of Renwick :D

Glad I wasn't towing a caravan :blast

It was getting darker and a few spots of rain landed on my visor, as I headed up from Melmerby to Hartside Cafe ..... and the road was getting wetter.
It was misty and bloody freezing on top, although some "advanced" types had braved the conditions.
(In the picture that isn't a Police-bike by the way ...... )

good post matey, I live in Durham , me and some mate went up last week on the enduros off roading , it was bitter and was pissing down , I fell off head first into the Beck soaked but had a great laugh all the best Ozzy :yikes

The roof went up last weekend, the ceiling went up this weekend and plastering next weekend......then the North East sheep cull starts:mcgun

Those tracks look good Chris fancy taking for a blast along them sometime:thumb
I know a nice route at Powburn we could meet there one sunday:bounce1

It was a pretty self-indulgent ride - I'm not sure if I sub-consciously posted late to avoid company?
I didn't want to piss people off by riding slow or feel guilty having people wait for me.
I rode around or below the speed limit most of the time...except for a rush of blood to the throttle hand up to Hartside.

The lane at Renwick is less than a mile long and is actually a residential street; There were big, posh houses off it at regular intervals....

I'm away to the Leicester Beer Festival for the coming 16th, 17th & 18th weekend and St.Paddy's Day - Any excuse for a pish-up...

After that I have the last week in March off, so ride-outs a go-go ...

:beerjug:

Bollocks! I was sure Mort would bite over the sheep-spotter/Military Road bit :thedummy

I have returned to the old avatar for your entertainment Chris:aidan

This weekend I shall mostly be........... taking my gortex gear back to the vendor, got bloody soaked yesterday riding back from Fleetwood. Got in at 6pm and didn't warm up until 8:(

Recently arrived back from Leicester, had me knee down all the way up the A1/M1, banked into the gale...

Knackered!

:rob

Time for
