HELP!!!

Right guys, 57 plate with just shy of 11,000 miles. The red triangle of doom is on. GS911 comes up with 24048 and 24049: Power Supply to Pump motor faulty. Tap the motor and it whirrs and stops. Reset ignition and back to square 1. I have worked out the motor is most likely dirty or it's way out. There has been mention of a recon service, but I can't find anything with the search facility. Do I bite the bullet and get a new one or are they easy enough to change out?

ABS motor brushes worn or sticking, look on other forums, YouTube etc for BMW ABS repair, I recall seeing a home video of a K1200GT having been repaired by its owner. Requires drilling the motor casing lugs, removing the casing to expose the brushes, replace brushes and aralditing casing into place.
 
Thanks guys. Still can't find a link to the re-furb post. Plenty of mentions but no linkys!
 
Links I've viewed says brushes get tight in brush holders, remove and file slightly then refit.

Perhaps just a good hard whack on the ABS unit motor with a plastic faced mallet will solve your issues? Nothing to lose by trying.

I've done that matey but after 2-3 runs with the computer it sticks again. I would have a go but bleeding it worries me afterwards.
 
Question is, do you have the time and inclination to go about trying the DIY fix, or do you have the £1k-ish to spare?

Same thing happened to me this time last year, but I was booked on a big trip to Sweden and Norway so had to get it fixed.
 
when I had issues with mine a few weeks ago there was a chap advertising a refurb on e bay for £350 in Birmingham , ime sure a search will find it.

Hi I have just completed abs strip down to my 57 plate gs ....bushes where not sticking , it was dust on the motor armature cleaned it al n stuck it back together , replaced a bearing also in pump motor ...all seems to be okay so far:thumb
 
I wish I had the time to have a go. With work at the moment I can't afford to have time out.

After a few phone calls I'm off down to see Steve at Motoscot.

If your were closer a would be happy to do the job for you, am on my big road test tomorrow 2day highland trip fingers crossed....:clap
 
Well after a very short visit to Motoscot this morning I now have a fully functional bike again.

Thanks to the guys at Motoscot, very professional and quick!! I arrived at 9:00 and was riding away at 10:00.

Thoroughly recommend them!
