abs not working

After buying a set of alloy wheels for the GS now im having problems with the ABS which seems to be very erratic.
Spoke to the guys at Motorworks who tell me this is not the first time they have heard of this but to cure it the ABS unit has to be programmed to think it is on a R1100s and then one of the wires in the plug needs to be changed....
Does anyone know of this problem or how to fix it before i have to goto the main dealer who will shake his head and tell me this voids all warranties know to mankind...Please HELP

You may have already done this, but check that the gap between the phonic wheel and the abs sensor is correct with the feeler gauge in your toolkit. it should be snug but still able to slide through. also make sure that it is aligned correctly. hope you get it sussed.
