Africa Twin is coming

The original AT was a heavy slow slug, whose suspension was dire & which had the worst seat on any bike I have ever owned

In 1996 the 1100 GS I bought new to replace it, totally & utterly eclipsed it in every way

Plus the paint finish & build quality on the BMW was far superior to the Honda of the same era

What ever happened to BMW since, I had a new AT in 2000 and a New 1150GS in 2001 the BMW was superb and the seat on the BMW a revelation compaired lets hope the AT seat is going to be better now
ordered the New AT today in Red from Dobles but requested it with the Gold Rims non DCT with ABS no prices for any accessories as yet or release date but told them I want top box and panniers lets see now how long it takes to get a price and delivery date !!

Any news on a price yet???????

Spoke to Paul at Dobles today he gave me a guaranteed Part Ex value on the bike Id trade in and he says price is going to be between £10-11k with ABS manual

seems they are only going to bring the ABS version to the UK in manual or DCT

Delivery Date Week commencing 14th December

Over here all come with ABS and Honda's priced the automatic transmission model $700 extra. So far both attempts with that transmission NC700X and VFR1200 have not sold particularly well.

"Powered by a brand-new 998cc parallel-twin engine, the Africa Twin will be available in two versions—one with a highly advanced Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), and another with a standard gearbox; US pricing is set at $13,699 and $12,999, respectively. Both versions will come standard with ABS and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and are extremely capable in highway and off-road applications."

So in real money that would be £9000 for the top spec. I doubt well see them that low.

Good game , can I have a go?

I reckon £10,700 for the basic manual bike and £11,400 for the DCT......

What's the prize ?

Can we get Honda to sponsor the game.... Guess the price and win one!

" Win a new Twin! "

Im thinking £10499 manual and £10999 for the DCT to be honest it wouldn't matter if the DCT was the same price Im not into that I prefer manual with a proper clutch lever, may be just me as they do seem to sell a fair few DCTs but not to me :D

Looks good in the Italian video ..... I won't be buying a new one as I've just bought a CT But I really do like the look of them and will be a light lighter than the CT so I could definitely see myself on a 2 yr old one:thumb

My dealer here in Guernsey seems to have prices. He says the manual is £10046 and the DCT £11000 and that's without VAT so that would make it around £11500 for manual and £12600 for DCT in UK !!!!!

If that is what a manual AT is going to cost in the UK, I will be cancelling my order.
