After a testride I think the 1250 is still better than the 1300GS

Tried to give the 1300GS with 2 kilos lighter than spokes forged wheels a try But bags are still not available and test bike had the rear shock out waiting to get replaced...One of these low rider ones for short legged people...So still V/max with bags test...So the jury is still not out if BMW at least solved the high speed with bags/top case wobble issue at least on the new 1300GS...?! Patience is a virtue...LOL
Ducati have solved it with a clever pannier mount system that moves so the boxes wobble rather than the bike and I can confirm that the Multi V4s is rock stable at well over 3 figures

The varios don’t wobble though (they just fall off) :D

That is what I want to try if the clever mounting system finally solves the high speed wobble...And I am not interested in a V4 Multistrada or 1290 KTM because then I would go S1000XR which is faster in a straight line and in the twisties than both...But I rather go boxer,driveshaft & Telelever despite the small tank and missing rush on top...LOL

I take that as a given that a 1390 KTM is faster than a S100XR…LOL Otherwise KTM can keep their chinese made overpriced crap that is definitely Not ready to race…LOL But if you believe so then more power to you…LOL

What BMW needs to do is give the 1300 7 mm more stroke for a full 1400 cc to have more bottom end TORQUE and enough POWER to pull the taller than 1250 gears 4-5-6 ! Of course 24 liters in the tank , 17 " wheels , lower handlebar and a underseat exhaust like the R1100/1200S...DE-limk the foot brake from the front and develop some bags that stay on and are water tight instead of having light inside...That would be awesome ! July 5th will bring the new 1300 ADV...I take as a given the tank is big enough...LOL

Dont blame me as I did not design the bags that dont stay on to conduct a proper high speed test if she still wobbles like a goats dick above 125 with bags/topcase like the 1250...I am willing but BMW is not able...LOL Also it did not help that the auto height adjustable rear shock is out of commission and the dealership waits for replacement...Hopefully the new 1300 Adventure aluminum bags due out in a few days (July 5th) will stay on...I take that over the light bulb inside...LOL Of course another 20 kilos wont make the ADV any faster so I hope they solve that problem with another 7 mm of stroke and 1400cc,...SOON ! And of course the 17" R1400XR or M1400GS version however BMW wants to call it...Until then the 1250GS stays !!!

And here she is as we speak the new 1300 GS Panzer Tank…I have to say 30 liters are better than 19 and Aluminum top loaders and better than plastic bags but it looks like still foot brake that also applies the front brakes 🤮,lawn mover sound as also the engine still needs 7 mm more stroke for a full 1400 cc and 160 hp / 160 nm to haul all the additional weight…Come on BMW you can do it 👍 Also the R1400Sportboxer as versatile and attractive as the R1100S is still missing from the product line as also the M1400GS/R1400GS with 17” wheels and underseat exhaust , 2 bikes worth getting excited about…So far this sheet is lame !
 
Question remains if the aluminum bags stay on to finally see if she holds still at a miserly 139 with full gear attached or still wobbles…Wished the rumors had been true with a full 1400cc to be able to pull the additional mass and height…Oh well in 4 years we get 50 cc more and in 2034 the new R1400GS…If we are still around by then or are only able to afford chinese bicycles…🤣
 
I'm waiting for the R1800GSA with 270hp, 600nm or toque, a 47 litre tank, does 135 mpg and over 200 mph (top speed of 180+ with panniers attached is what I'm after)...anyway, it is due in 2105. Can't wait.
 
Sounds great only 2105 is too far out as I would be 140 by then or better Maggot sheet for about 60 years…🤣
 
Looking at the new 1300 Adventure I must say the subframe looks way better than the chinese scooter subframe on the regular 1300 but the aluminum piece in front of the tank does not look right or looks like it has been hit by the ugly stick…Twice !🤣 Time for the 1400…M/XR and M/R1400S….🤣👍🍀I think the R1250GS turned into a good looking bike since the R1300’s came out from what we have seen so far…Japaninc meets Lego meets Rheinmetall…Come on BMW we all know you can do better looking at what you have archived at the TT and now WSBK…Bring back some sheet worth getting excited about like last seen with the R1100GS (1995) , R1100S (1998) , S1000RR (2009) & S1000XR (2015)…Its about time because even the most loyal dogs 🐕 need a bone 🍖 once in a while 🤣
 
The more I look at the new 1300 Adventure which I would take over the regular 1300 with its lawn mover sized tank I must say I pass on the 1300 generation…Reason(s) are
- weak sound
- foot brake linked to the front
- engine cuts off at 8000 rpm and needs more power to pull the taller than 1250 gears which makes it feel not powerful in gears 4-5-6 or in roll-on in higher gears
All I like are the lighter forged wheels from the factory 🏭 and the expandable aluminum boxes which hopefully stay on and dont induce a wobble at the whopping speed of 137 mph max…🤣
Sorry BMW but I wait for 7 mm more STROKE and a full 1400cc and hopefully by the you have de-linked the footbrake , gave the engine some proper sound and have redesigned the side aluminum piece and gaping big hole 🕳️ in front of the tank that looks just HORRIBLE…🤮As they say beauty is only skin deep and it would be no deal breaker as you can black it out and TeuerTech or Plunderlich will come up with a aluminum mesh to make it look only half as bad 🤣 But we still need 1400 cc to give it some go , foot brake like before and maybe a real and sporty looking taillight instead of the dorky looking Harley blinkers…🤮Waiting for the mid cycle refresh in 2028…👍
 
I was thinking I buy one of the last 1250GS ADV in Triple Black and have them switch my Tractive Shocks , black cast wheels and Akra BMW exhaust but 18 grand just for a bigger tank and really 11 year old bike since the R1200GS ADV came out in 2014 makes no sense...I have not seen the 1300 ADV in person and really only the front aluminum piece held by 3 screws make the bike look not right...The rest is ok ! But really BMW should get their corporate heads out of the arses and get some real motorcycle guys in there as the new Motorrad-Boss mentioned the word CAR twice during the 1300 ADV unveiling speaking broken denglish instead of speaking german and being proud of his germanic creation ! Anyways the solution is easy like I said from the beginning when the 1300GS came out.The lawn mover tank of the regular is too small while the 30 liter monstrosity of the ADV is too big unless you go really on your trip to Ushuaia...
- 7 mm more stroke for a full 1400cc with 165 hp/Nm !
- 24 liter / 6 gallon tank
- de-linked foot brake like before !
- good boxer sound like on the 1250
And as a bonus a real tail-light !
For the mid cycle refresh for 2028 as I dont think BMW will do it for next year...LOL
Until then the 1250 will do just fine !
