Hi All,

I'm 6'5", 23 stone and have an inside leg of about 35 inches. Am I too big for a GS ?

A.
:P

Sorry you are too big for a GS:thumb

I'm 6.3 and 21.5 stone I've got a 1200 GSA. :D get one of them ! :bounce1

you might struggle to get the obligatory Rallye II suit known on this site under a psydonym :thumb2

I would have thought that being that size you could have whichever bike you want....sir:D

Seriously though, I am not far off that build and find that the 850/1100 is fine for me. Maybe sort yourself some lowered pegs and a higher saddle to improve comfort on long trips but to be honest I have toured on it and have had no problems.

I guess being a bit taller the adventure may be better suited, but I have not had the opportunity to try one for any length of time.

Ma Mammy had to add 8inches to the sleeve length of jumpers she knitted me, I'm 6' 4.5" these days and have 36" inside leg and having seen sense I gave up being a lard arse and got my BMI under control. Long gone are my 20-23 stone days but I've wrapped my lager frame around many bikes with no problems.
As a teenager my mate and I went on a camping trip to the mountains, 5000 feet above sea level on a 175 Lambretta. 37 stone total with may mate as pillion and our camping gear.
The poor old scoot didne go to fast but we got around OK.

Bit of a silly ? really. GSA is a little taller but GS's have carried far heavier and taller:thumb

Joanne and myself are 10'11" weigh 26 st and often ride our 1200gs laden-ed up with luggage.
Are you to big??????

NAH

Welcome,

Steve.

At 6'5" you are not even close to the big tossers on here....

There's only ONE real way to know - go and test ride one!

6' 8" 37inch inside leg and 17stone its not a problem at all on my 1150 adventure although bar risers, peg lowering kit and custom seat make it more comfortable when doing big mileage.

Did you try one of these for size?:)

No way are you to big you must have size 13 14 feet/boots they will make great platforms when you put your feet down,,,, easy with 35" legs!
I am 6. 2" and 26.5stone but only have 29" legs to place my size 13 boots down! but you adapt.

Go on get one they will make you smile..................:)

Big D:)

I bought the GS to comfortably accommodate my 6'5" height and 36" legs. I'm only 14 stone though so have still got some eating to do!

There are plenty of other bikes out there for little people so don't feel bad about getting a GS
