An mpg q and a bit of reassurance??

Seems the legendary oilhead tank range is a myth then

My XCountry with only a 9.5 litre tank will easily see 150 miles to empty

That's what I like to see, a good honest like for like comparison...

I think the fuel savings are probably outweighed by the new crank, piston and valves every 70 hours :rolleyes:

That's the G450x that needs the engine rebuild, not the XCountry which has a 6000 mile service interval like the old oil heads :)

I do have a couple of oil heads too, I used to reckon about 50mpg but I'll have to check now

Riding with Micky on his 800 GS we'd stop for fuel every 200-220 miles (even though the GSA wasn't empty) & he was putting in 5 litres less each fill up & at over £6 per gallon it makes you think how poor the old oil head mpg is :) for a bike with same bhp as the 800 GS
