Another Red Triangle of Death.

Readz/Bear
I've just had the same symptoms, but after a trip to CW Motorcycles their computer decided it was caused by an earlier low battery. The battery is fully charged now (but possibly suspect in the long run) but all warnings have now gone. I got the impression that they did a reset, perhaps in the onboard computer. Is that possible? Anyway, all is now well, and has been for a couple of hundred miles and a dozen starts.

Fault codes can be read and reset either with a BMW GT1 computer or a GS911 device.

I have the GS911 device and it is a superb bit of electronics. Very useful.

The latest update, I hardly dare let you know as it maybe the kiss of death. After Adams input and lots of help from a fellow GS owner I ordered the rear sensor from Motoworks btw excellent service from them again (used £29) a litre of Castrol Differential SAF-XO and some Molly grease.

Fully drained the final drive and flushed it out with oil, new O-ring on sensor relatively easy job and total cost of around £50 inc postage and all that.

I have been out for a couple of long runs now 40 miles and last night 55 miles and NO Red Triangle or flashing lights.

Must admit I have kind of lost all faith in dealers after this experience, it’s a good hour and a half journey to the dealers and I did this twice once arranging a lift back so as to leave the bike with them without results apart from getting my ass slapped for a new battery and a BMW charger. If (I’m still not 100% convinced) it is just the sensor you have to ask why on earth couldn’t a dealer with all the BMW technology find this fault? Beggars belief.

Thanks to all on UKGSER site that replied with their assistance on this.

My red triangle has been conspicuous by its (very welcome) absence so it looks like my brake problem is now sorted, as is my FD oil leak and general nastiness (replaced as a goodwill gesture as per my post in the Dealers forum). I can't help but think that the electric servo with reservoirs hidden under the petrol tank was too clever for its own good (although the brakes are seriously good).
