Got back into mtb'ing after a 20 year or so layoff after buying a used specialized rockhopper from here and am absolutely loving it, doing the surrey hills at every opportunity.
So much so I have bought new tyres - on-one smorgasbords and about to get new wheels - to replace a rather knackered front wheel, bike stand, the pile of bicycle bits keeps growing in the garage.
My question is the smorgasbords are a 2.25 width, I have inner tubes that are 2.125, should I bother getting tubes that go up to 2.25, which typically means inner tubes that go up to 2.4/5.
I ask as I had a few issues with the tyres at the w/e, tyre coming off the rim at the front, three punctures, which could all be just one of those things, but it never happened with the narrower tyres.
Loving this thread btw.
