A65 past Settle was deserted this morning well it was only 7.30, Windermere, Ambleside and Conistone were all still sleeping when i tootled through ,
Still quite when i headed off home mid afternoon.

Must have been a weekend for the Lakes - I was on a ride out on Saturday - rode over to Takoda Camping at Kirkby Stephen arriving by 8.30am, set up my tent, had a drink & set off at 10am
We stopped at Castlerigg Stones for an ice-cream and the view, then dropped into Ambleside for Kirkstone Pass and back to Takoda.

I avoid the A65 like the plague. Double white lines, caravans & the hump backs heading for Devils Bridge are enough to make my blood pressure rise.

Its a lot better when commuting at 6am except for the corner cutting trucks which expect the road to be empty
