Sometimes here, sometimes there...
I’m hearing a rumour that In Moto, the parent of Ducati Croydon and south London KTM dealer, has collapsed into administration.

Anybody heard or know anything more?

can't see anything on companies house under reg no 03713952
no posts on their Facebook accounts, which have not been active for years

Your source of said rumours?

I was there in mid-October, seemed fine then although no customers other than me in evidence. Loads of bikes - mainly Ducatis. They have closed one small showroom which is/was in St James road - a block away from the main showroom and workshop.

Wow - yeah. Looks like its closed :confused2:

with the caveat that anyone can edit a location on google maps, which could be the source of the rumours

there is a recent comment on the google maps reviews about a disgruntled customer. The change on google maps could be malicious so it would be handy if someone local could verify if this is case. There has been none of the usual comments on social media like we had with Completely Motorcycles and M&P where customers had to wait for their serviced bikes to be released or orders not completed.

I'll ask around today .

they don't have many friends in the bike trade .

it seems they are giving up Moto Guzzi
keeping KTM
not sure about Ducati .
i guess they'll keep all the Piaggio stuff.

A personal message to all our customers, past and present.

Thursday 27th November, 2025

It is with a very heavy heart that we share some important news.

After twenty-six years of serving riders across South London and Surrey, In Moto Ltd / Ducati Croydon has closed its doors for the final time. The industry has faced very difficult conditions in recent times, and, despite every effort, we are unable to continue operating.

In Moto has always been a true family business. Founded by Gaudenzio Ingignoli in 1999 and joined by Cristian and Roberta, the dealership has been built on passion for the Ducati brand and a genuine love of motorcycling.

For our Ducati customers and friends, this does not affect our sister dealership, Ducati London, in any way. We want to reassure you that Ducati London, also led by Cristian, remains fully open and ready to support you with new and used bike sales. servicing, warranty, clothing, parts and accessories.

While we are saying goodbye to Ducati Croydon, the Ingignoli family will now focus fully on Ducati London, and we look forward to welcoming you into the Vauxhall store.

To everyone who has supported us over the years, thank you. Your loyalty, trust, and friendship have meant everything to us.

Thank you for twenty-six unforgettable years.

La famiglia Ingignoli.

Ducati London seems to be owned directly by Audi so presumably Cristian is an employed manager. Cristian resigned as a director of Inmoto Ltd in Feb 2025.

Well , the last 2 or 3 , other Ducati shops in Central London all failed , so no big surprise.
the cost of premises is unaffordable .
BMW Battersea are ( eventually ) moving , their rent went up by ....£1Million this year ( so rumour has it )

Shame. I liked Kevin in the Ducati showroom. Very knowledgeable and not pushy. I took a V4 MTS out for a test ride last year. He knew that the bikes sold themselves (Not to me unfortunately!). I think it was Cristian in the showroom around the block that arranged my test ride on a Aprilia Caponard Rallye - a great overall bike but a gen behind with the tec., apart from the suspension, which was the best I've experienced.

this was their first shop.

Steve Lilley ,( of Jack Lilley's ) once said there is a small fortune to be made in the bike trade , but first you start with a large one.

You're right - I see that mentioned at the foot of their website, but surely that must refer to Ducati SPA.

AFAIK In-Moto Ltd run the 'under the arches' shop off the Albert Embankment.

BTW, the family appears to have several other interests, based in Verwood & Croydon/Purley.

Not sure what point you are trying to make.

The dealership has been opened by Ducati UK in conjunction with the established and highly regarded Ducati Croydon.

Ducati SPA states it owns the copyright of the web domain above, and presumably the whole dealership.

The ultimate beneficial owner of Ducati SPA is Audi, part of VAG.

Correction @wessie - DL appears to be operated, not by In Moto Ltd, as I thought, but by In Moto Enterprise Management Ltd, where Cristian remains a Director.

The Accounts are micro, so it's difficult to understand precisely how this 'conjunction' idea actually works in practice - presumably Ducati SPA or UK? effectively employ MEM Ltd to manage the business day to day. Hence the latest Accounts show no significant fixed assets, just stock & creditors, along with 6 employees. NatWest hold a Mortgage Debenture.

highly regarded by whom ?

mortgage ? must be on the main shop in Croydon , cos you wouldn't be able to buy the arch they claim to be in .

Croydon/Purley main 2 shops.
Verwood ? never heard of that .
just spoke to a contact in Bournemouth , he doesn't know that they have in interest down there.

Several members of the Ingignoli family, as well as Roberta Tait (Co.Sec.) have multiple identities at Companies House, something that the new ID scheme might like to tackle idc - probably not!
