Hi everyone,

Just been on NN site and spotted the new Remus Powercone. Has anyone fitted one yet. What do they sound like, whats the quality like??
Sorry about all the questions, but I'm just looking for a exhaust for my 12GS. :thumb

Mine's coming next week

Orca,
Can't really comment on the sound, but on looks alone I went for one. My titanium version was ordered through my local Motarrad Dealer and because it was so new they couldn't get it straight away.
I am led to believe it's got a removeable baffle so it should sound a bit fruity one way or the other (!)
As soon as it arrives I will take a recording of it and try to post it on here (fingers crossed - never tried attaching anything before).
If you can hang on - do, if not, get it on looks alone like I did.

Had the short version for a while on the KR, loud with the baffle in, really loud with the baffle out.

Changed to an Akra 'cause the performance from it was no better than stock, and the Akra is quieter, but if your after noise and moto GP looks then the Remus.

any further updates?

How have those that tried got along? have you fitted them to standard headers?

The price seems good for such a good looking system.

what about panniers too?

Thanks.

Calling Orca...

Orca,
Finally the Remus Powercone arrived, have had real trouble uploading the video but will continue to try, until then, here are a few photos of it fitted. It looks quite nice I think you'll agree and if you are like me and prefer a Ahem 'Throaty' sound you won't be disappointed! (Reminds me of a Yamaha WR450 Rasp if that's at all possible).

All the best enjoy, Andy :thumb

how does it compare with a full remus ordinary set up, is it louder if so i would be interested:thumb

Thanks Andy for taking the time to post the pictures. It looks great, I think I'll pop out and order mine once all this Christmas stuff is over.
Can you tell me where you bought yours and how much you paid. The reason I ask is, I was in Rainbow BMW in Rotherham a few weeks ago, and the guy there told me they weren't avaliable yet for the 1200, but quite clearly they are!!!

Cheers again Andy, ORCA:thumb :beerjug:

Whtegloss/Orca reply

Whitegloss - I am still trying to upload the video footage (Problem accepting it on Photobucket!), but if you want I can email it to you if you send your address to me, or provide another upoad solution, I am a bit of a biff on t'internet... The can sounds meaty as your dad, I don't think it would be fit for the road in UK. (Ha Ha!)
Orca - My local dealer can be found at this link - http://www.hammer-gruppe.de/motorrad-mg/ - I usually deal with Marwan or Thomas and they are 100% helpful and fluent English speakers. I believe I am the first to get one through them and it did take 5/6 weeks to come but definately worth the wait. If you need assistance, I can pick up, post etc on your behalf but I have put others (Tsiklonaut) in contact with them before regarding clothing and they were more than willing to post to Estonia. Cost was about 410 Euros so probably about £280 (I qualify for VAT Free you see!.....). Let me know what you want to do and I'll see what I can do.

Oops forgot..

Sorry Orca, forgot to mention, I haven't got my boxes fitted at the mo but will be doing so in the v near future in prep for a bit of a longer ride in mid Jan. I reckon because the can is slimmer and follows the same angle there won't be an issue with the standard boxes. If i remember correctly, there was about a 4 cm gap on all sides with the standard can fitted.
Still trying with that bl**dy video.

All the best - Andy

Finally, the video has been uploaded.

Orca/Whitegloss,

I have been able to upload the short video of my bike with the Remus Powercone fitted (baffle removed - Ha Ha).
I think the video does it justice but not as much to listening to it from about 10feet behind through a tunnel on overrun (pops and bangs like a gooden).

Enjoy - Andy

Why does the back wheel only turn when you rev the engine, mine turns straight away on tick over :mmmm

Cone sounds good.
