Anyone updated to 133.30?

Big sigh of relief - my 1290S managed 139.3 BHP this morning and 99 Ft/lb of torque and so is more powerful than Andres 1190 :aidan

Also obviously more powerful than Nutty's being the faster black colour :D

That makes me very happy :D

Nice curves Paul :thumb2

I find those mid-range gains look almost too big to believe, it shows an increase of about 50% at 5,000rpm, does it feel this much more on the road?

My 1090 is a bit flat in the middle, maybe a post warranty visit to Hilltop could pep it up a bit if I decide to keep it for the longer term, my 1190 has plenty of mid range so I don't see a real need, but the 1090 is a bit flat in the 4k-6k range where I do spend a lot of time.

Also has anyone noticed a perceptible drop in engine heat after having a Hilltop visit?

You raise an interesting point. Correct me if I’m wrong but a lean burner runs hot. So in theory it ought to run cooler.

Nutty has had his done for a while, maybe he has a view.

Nutty has had a cat bypass. So I guess it will run cooler.

yes same here, no cat = less heat build up. A noticeable difference. (and a huge gain in mpg too ...).

Yes, leaner = hotter. Although the HT map will make your bike run a little richer, I'd be surprised if you'd actually notice any difference in the heat from that rear cylinder.

The biggest benefit of running slightly richer is that your con rods won't get so hot and you're far less likely to seize a piston. :thumb2

A drop of diesel in the fuel tank will also provide a bit more lubrication and improve engine life :thumb2

Having had a few bikes setup on a dyno I am familiar with how much "nicer" they feel, regardless of actual power gain or mpg improvement, a good throttle response is something that cannot be measured. The 1090 is OK on top end for solo pottering about / the Mrs to go touring on, hopefully they can get a bit more in the middle.

Reduced heat would be a bonus, not noticed much yet, but it has been pretty cold, don't think I have ridden it in temperatures above about 8c yet, the 1190 has the SA rear header fitted which helped, but they cost £90 + Fitting, which gets me half way to a remap for the 1090.

I use old chip fat. Gives the bores a nice coating of emulsive (made up word) lubricant and exhaust gases reminiscent of a McDonald's all day breakfast - win win.

I've got a 3 year old 1190 that I've just had de catted. Mate following said it sounded slightly noisier, can't tell if it runs cooler as it hasn't been above 8 degrees since I've had it done but the mpg hasn't changed a bit - still getting about 200 miles to the tank in mixed riding.

Have to say the £125 it cost for the decat doesn't seem great vfm at the moment. Hoping to get it remapped and maybe that will improve things but that's another 300 odd quid and a day off work so where do I stop?!

I decatted and replaced end can and then went to HT so that any map that was put on the bike was working with the changes i'd made. (rather than having it mapped and then making other changes). I noticed a significant improvement in mpg. By removing the cat, your engine hasn't got to push all those exhaust gasses through a lump of flower arranging oasis, so for the same sort of performance, it doesn't have to work as hard .. :thumb2

Don't forget the beautiful smell of exhaust gases every time you're stationary with the cat removed. Fitted headers to the GS but put the cat version back on after two weeks as I hated the fumes. Obnoxious. Have to admit the motor felt free though. Noise was amazing, but you get fed up quite quickly if out all day, even with ear plugs.

Man....I have woken up positive today! :blast

I took the cats off my 2008GS and my Super Tenere and had no horrible smells, neither did I have such problems on the 20+ other bikes I have owned that never had cats in the first place.
