Re: SPC insurance quote

Must say I've always been happy with the SPC boys especially John and Tim - top blokes. Insurance runs out at the end of the month so put a request over the net yesterday to them for a quote. Lets see how long it takes to get an answer.

Still haven't heard anything!

Seems like you're experiencing something of a nightmare with SPC. I've always found them to be pretty good, apart from the service chap (Whose name escapes me now) who is no longer with them now (And works at Portsmouth Honda for information).

Having said that the insurance quote system doesn't seem to work too well. Twice I have requested quotes with no reply being given...

Anyone else have any anecdotes to share?

Too late now even if they do come back to me as I've given up and renewed with my old company. Its a shame realy as I've always been looked after down there and hadn't realised untill reading these threads just how many people seemed pi**ed off with them!
I know Derek (Masterdabba) has emailed them and I'm sure Charllie would have had a word in their shell so hopefully things will pick up - dam stupid if they don't

i totally agree with what charlie said, like charlie i to spend a lot of time there so perhaps i am a bit biased .You cant keep every body happy all the time ,i too run my own business and there are sometimes you balls things up ,we all have bad days .i can only praise them ,call me old fashoned but i would think its easier to pick up the phone and talk to somebody than keep looking at a computer sceen and waiting to see if someone has replied.this week i needed some o,rings for the qd fuel couplings ,phoned up at 12 midday ,on my doorstep the next morning , no problems ,and have not paid for them yet ,was told to pay for them next time i am in. :D :D :D :D :D :D

not only do they bend you over a benchtop and fck you for the privilege of letting you buy something from them - but they also do it again - but harder - when it comes to servicing and tyre payment time.
if you're close enough to SPC to get them to replace your tyres, you're close enough to Micheldever Tyres as well.

Recent quote for a back tyre (Tourance) for 1150GS:

1) BMW dealer: £140 fitted
2) Micheldever tyres: £92 fitted

guess where I get my tyres done :D

Yeah. I was in there yesterday. Loads of people. Loads of bikes. Loads of doughnuts and little chocolate cakes. Loads of nice coffee.

Oh when I asked about what I needed to do to make the rear seat on my 1150GS clip on properly, a chap came from the workshop, fiddled about and pronounced that he'd need to take it round to the workshop to make adjustments. Came back 15 mins later, all fixed and no charge. (For alli I know, they did the thing on warranty and BMW are bieng charged for it.

And now they sorted out my extraordinarily cheap insurance I'm dead happy with SPC.
