Autoswitch AS7 - which wire?

Continuing the job of morphing ecnirpr's Adv into mine, I want to replace the BMW OEM switch on the handlebar clamp with an Autoswitch AS7.

The instructions are quite clear until the point where you need to connect the 'sensor' wire (yellow) to the wire coming from the turn signal cancel button.

Can anyone help me in identifying which wire this is? On my last GS it was simple to put a probe down the side of the wire in the multi-pin plug from the hadlebar switch. This one has sealed plugs making this impossible (or at least - I can't work out how to do it).

The bike is a 2003 R1150GS Adventure. It has no light swith on the RH handlebar controls (ie the headlamp is always on).

Can anyone give me a steer on this please?

Try brown with white stripes, check with an ohm meter for continuity to earth when pressed.

Thanks for that. I'm probably being very dense, but I'm unable to work out how to get the tester's probe into the connector to make this check - is there a trick to it?

Mike, I'm not able to check today but sure that wire runs to under the fuse panel, I think I've made the connection there but will have to check.

I've used the same autoswitch on 4 bikes, you'd think I would know

Thanks - I had a look at the flasher unit, but once again the plug is of such a design that I can't work out how to get a probe into the connection...

I believe Mike has a few safety precautions in his garage now
