Avast just said that my subscription is about to xpire, and gave me the option of updating to the professional version. This will need to be done within 20 days.

Has it stopped being a freebie or what?

If its the same as last year they try to get you to upgrade to the Professional version at expiry time, but the free version for personal use is still there if you look for it.

Yep. Just go to http://www.avast.com/eng/home-registration.php#register-form and register for a new code.

Yo have to do it every 14 months.
