Backlit switch gear

This might sound like a daft question, gone from a basic Triumh sprint to this new BMW, there's loads of buttons for suspension/modes/menu's. Has anyone back-light the switch gear? Can it be done, seems bizarre to me you can't see anything in the dark at all.

Arghhhhh, look at the road not buttons

Wear muffs that way you'll learn where things are

Only a temp measure until I can memorise where stuff is, I only ride at night and it's pitch black round here, not much street lighting.
