i don't recall being asked if i wanted ice. stayed up on that, but did a face plant in the mud.

thought i'd cut my face when i looked a mirror later, but it was only tomato soup :)

Just got in. What a hoot of a day!

Ice over greased chalk is not the grippiest of surfaces!!

Top lunchtime nose-bag Steve. Thanks to all your team and thanks to Becky who rewarded me with a nice cup of coffee in exchange for a grope of her knee!

:augie

Thanks too to Nathan for leading our ride (even if I didn't know who I was supposed to be following right at the start!).

It'll take me all of tomorrow to recover from today!

:D

Greg

Brilliant day Mr Bakerman sir :bow

Just one complaint ........

Next time charge more !!!

Well worth it and a good cause :D

Thanks Nathan for leading good pace to keep it interesting ....just one complaint

Next time you fall off we need pictures :augie

Top day folks

Shaved showered and off to the pub for some pain relief

Brilliant day

Great company

Food was excellent

and thanks to the two gentlemen that led the 'beginners' group (in the sidecar outfit)

phew, what aday

Having managed to start with the intermediates. I then found that the the dicey TKCs were more than dicey.

Quick return to join the beginners for a nice quiet bimble over the Plain.

WRONG.

Nice little hill: oh er, look, it's covered with ice. Down go the bikes.

"this was the same hill as last year, when everyone went down"

On we go, nearly lunch. one more hill. Oops more ice. Down she goes again.

I have to say even with the downs it was a good mornings ride.
Thanks Bakerman for all your efforts and nice amount to charity.

The 1200 is safe back at home but not washed as the hose pipe is still frozen.

gutted ;) looks like you guys had a great day, sadly I've spent the last 9+ hours crawling back down from Glasgow so missed it all

got to ask though, was there a punch up? the way the forum was going I was convinced there would have been one :o

Thanks to Bakerman for organising a great day out, had a great time. Soup and sausage roll was braw too!! Thanks to Nathan for leading the ride-out too, a good test for a relative novice like myself. Looking forward to returning to the area in the future. :beerjug:

PS. I agree with the comment that you should have charged more, that's from a Scotsman too!!!:D

Glad you had such a good day out as did we all but in deference the the trusty 1150GS, I have to report that she stayed upright at all times and on Tourance EXPs. I only did one section of ICE but then decided to preserve the 1150s dignity and stick to tarmac for the rest of the day. :rob

It was a fun day but I need to get a 'fun' bike for those types of events.
Thanks again to Bakerman for all his good work. :beerjug:

You can pay as much as you like:augie

Thanks Bakerman for organising a fab day and to Jay B and the other chap (sorry I didnt catch your name) for great leading. Simply the best fun I've had all Christmas!

Only disappointment was that noone got a photo of Berin taking the "just go for it" approach to riding on ice!

Cheers:thumb2

All ride-outs should start with tea and oven baked bacon butties, and have Bakerman delivering pasties and hot soup at a designated lunch stop.

An excellent day out, and thanks to Jay B for leading the mud-and gravel group (although he forgot to mention the ice*:blast). At least I didn't hurt myself and provided hours of amusement for the group.

And very well done to the guy who had never ridden off road before and had blagged a 250KTM for the day, who always had a big grin on his face.

* note to self - just riding across sheet ice in the hope that it will all be OK isn't a good technique...

Top day, well done Mr B' Man. You set the bar very high for all future ride outs. Warm food & drink delivered with Military precision ticked nearly all my boxes ('fraid you can't help with the others Steve;))
On the point of charging more....perhaps you should just charge per pasty (eh Ming?)

cheers

Can be organised anytime, guided days with food delivered easy, done it before

Could easyly orgainise something in warmer weather, reason for charging was did it once before and past the hat around some would put £5 in and some a £1 or even 50p in some cases, never again.

I can do weekdays also, one to one guiding, money given to my charity, just check out what others charge and knock some off.

OK OK, I'm probably still an apprentice in some folks eyes.............but I guess I should have known this was going to follow the lead of the 2 Hograosts, 1 Llangollen & 1 East Mids event + several rideouts that I've managed to make since becoming a real Tosser!

Yet another great day in great company with lots of added ice, mud, water & sunshine that was even better in conjunction with Steve's splendid grub & a can of Red Bull just when I needed it :thumb2

Roll on the next one, and to anyone that was thinking of coming...................but didn't............don't miss the next one.

Now then.................. lets see the pics please Nathan

Pictures are on the way...i'm just having a few issues getting the camera to talk to the pc :blast

Thanks to you all for some great company, and to Greg for TEC duties.

It certainly seemed to work better once we'd split into 2 groups, but i wasn't expecting that amount of ice

Bring on the next one :thumb
