Check out the 2012 Touratech Travel Event at Neidereshach near Rottweil as it's in mid june this year and there'll be lots of mostly German GS'ers aswell as a free campsite and subsidised food/beer/talks and films etc although it all in German.

You could enter the 'GS challenge' aswell.......I was going to enter after watching last year but work commitments mean i can't go this time:blast

Stayed in Hotel Kreuz in Wolfach a few times. Hotel is on the main street but is fairly quiet, decent food & beer. Secure parking in courtyard at side / rear of hotel. Choice of other hotels and pubs nearby and nice village centre to wander round. Some good riding roads in the area.

Plenty of other good guest houses in the vicinity; take the minor road from Wolfach via Oberwolfach towards Schapbach following the River Kinzig and you can take your pick of a good 1/2 dozen or more.

Also stayed here:

I never pre-book. Just turn-up on spec and have always found a comfortable bed & good food. Trip advisor has quite a few places listed in this area if you want to see prices and get a feel for what is available.

There's also a Gasthof called 'Zum Mohren' located in the nearby village of Fischbach which although somewhat old fashioned by today's standards is relatively cheap and cheerful. The food is excellent though.

I recently booked a night there for 4 of us in June on the return leg of our 'Doing the Stelvio on a Stelvio' tour. Sounded like nice folks on the phone.

Can't do any better, going there for fourth time in as many years in a couple of weeks. My mate liked it so much he got married there last year.

As well as being a great establishment it is very well located in the heart of the Black Forest, especially if you don't want the bright lights of the city, the Village is wonderful with a couple of places to eat and drink, yet silent by night (apart from us staggering back from the local)

Great reviews as well
