I have the BM tankbag I use on my GSA. I quite like the bag apart from one huge issue I have with it. The clear window on top for map viewing is perfectly aligned and reflective to shine straight in my face. I just cant ride with it on the bike like this as I'm somewhat sensitive to flashing lights. Last tour I was on I had to stretch a buff around the bag to cover the top of the bag. This worked but was a pain in the arse when wanting to get in the bag.

Has anyone else had this issue and come up with a solution for this before I change the bag for something else?

cheers

Rich

How about apply a piece of dark window tint across the plastic window

lol. i had forgotten i had the same issue in France this July with my Givi. in france i taped a piece of paper to it and when i returned i discovered the tablet cover that comes with it is supposed to be turned over if you have this issue (black side up).

being from NI too much bright sun has never been an issue before!!

You can buy different coloured felt in A4 with a sticky back, I have now sold it and use S w Motech

I ended up putting a few strips of electrical tape over the front end of the window, to the point where it doesn't reflect directly into my eyes. Doesn't look as bad you might think, and it's quite effective. There's still more than half the window available for reading through. It'll be a sticky mess if I ever need to take it off...

Had the same problem with my Givi bag, many years ago. Ended up cutting the clear plastic window out as I don't use printed maps anymore.

Roll up a piece of cloth and put it under the window so it forms a slight tent effect.
My tank bag is so full of stuff that the top is not flat, no reflection problems.
