bought a 1100gs, have a few question's,?

Here's my 1100 with a homemade under swingarm exhaust.its not straight through but sounds nice, doesn't seem to effect fueling and tidys up the rear end.well I think so ,others may not

made a start on the exhaust system, found a bit of old straight ex/pipe in the garage just the right diameter, but had to pie-cut it to get the right bend on it, i've just tacked it with my stick-set as my tig set blew up a few year's ago, so my brother will have to tig weld it for me, stuck the cherrybomb on, i'll have to knock up a bracket to support it off the bottom shock mount, about a 10th of the weight of the standard system, and i'm sure it'll sound nice,

Bottom Shock Mount!

Why the feck would you want a bracket to support it from the bottom shock mount:eek::eek::eek: - it moves up and down a tad FFS:eek:
- unless your planning to replace the rear shock with a rigid fabrication while your at it:rolleyes:
This bike is doomed:(

Cheers....................Grizzly:beerjug:

Hence the reason I've mounted mine off the left hand footrest hanger.

I'd noticed that - yours is not the one I'm worried about:rolleyes:.........................Grizzly:beerjug:

Looking good though fella,:thumb...you can't beat a bit of tinkering.be interesting to hear what it sounds like once hooked up..

its pointless having one on a GS thats going to be road only.

I would replace the sump guard. I flicked something fairly large and metallic up while on a ride and took a huge hit underneath the bike. When I checked there was a significant dent in the sump guard. I dread to think what might have happened to the engine casings without it. I've also put a louder rebus exhaust onto mine. It has made a slight difference to my safety in that more car drivers hear me coming and so fewer cut me up. I'm a city rider though, so if you are a rural rider, this might not be so important.

started thining the wiring down, about half of the original loom's gone, i cut down the original relay/fuse box and mounted it where the abs unit used to sit,

this is what i've taken off, there's still a bit more to cut off though,

chopped off the rear part of the seat frame rail's ready for the single seat conversion,
