Well have been putting off taking a test ride on the Stelvio since last year, went down yesterday and took a demo bike out for an hour on a mixture of A , B and single track C roads.
Really liked it , loads of character, good brakes, neutral handling and more than enough go about it, the ergonomics were very good for me and it was comfortable.
My KTM 1090 is an excellent bike but just too focussed to take out for a potter around( it wants to be revved and going faster all of the time) and I am getting too old for that kind of bike.
Made up my mind to buy one so back at the shop got a value for my bike and had every intention to buy either the Stelvio edition or a new grey non rider assisrance model.
Then all of a sudden common sense kicked in and I thought " I have the 1250gsa for two up touring so do not really want to spend £16,000 plus on another toy"
Dealer had a 12 month old yellow bike in stock 6,000 miles but with full guzzi luggage, centre stand, engine bars, heated comfort seats, uprated aftermarket heated grips and a few other bits and bobs .
Bought it instead, would have bought Wrinkly's old custom painted bike but this one has more toys, hope first foray into Italian bikes go wellIMG_6516-1.jpg

Nice bike Neil, hope you do many miles on it.

I have a V100 Mandello and love it,the engine is superb with lots of torque, makes it really relaxing to ride.

Teasdales ?

Bought mine in May this year, and just coming up to 5.5k Miles, only grumble I've had is the clutch switch failed but was sorted out quickly by the dealer (A&D)

I am loving it, it's different, and the engine has all I need and more, very torquey. I've got the following cruise enabled on mine to, which even though I tend not to do much motorway, I had to use some Autobahn getting back from a trip earlier this month and it worked really well. I've also added the Hepco and Becker Skid plate-a-mabob as it's come up higher and does a good job of protecting the front engine cover.20250804_084637931_iOS.jpg

Congratulations on finding a well accessorized and barely broken in Stelvio, Neil.

Now just got to go through all the rigmarole with CN telephone monkeys to change over the insurance with an overlap in cover

No doubt they will stiff me with admin fees to take the ktm off my policy then another admin fee plus an increase in premiums to add the Guzzi on

Yes , and for once I left a dealership without feeling like I had been shafted
Nice to hear

We had a club open night there last Weds night and I saw your new bike - very smart

They looked after us well and food/drink was delicious

BMW 4 button mount is now off the KTM ready to go on the Guzzi , whoever buys the KTM will be getting a cracking bike and had I been 20 years younger and our lass was 4 inches taller with working knees , I would never have sold it .
It is fitted with the KTM Powersport sump guard , Powersport seats , Powersport bar risers , engine bars , Givi rack and pannier rails , Denali lights and Cansmart etc .
Shame but things must move on

They're a nice thing for sure.

Only thing that irks me is the silver elements are an odd silver to me, almost look sprayed, but overall, the bike is different enough but same enough if that makes sense.

Odd with the radar etc not to include the FCC, but was told it was held due to copyright and will come available soon and can be activated at 'cost', which is likely sub a hundred quid.

Not ridden the Tributo, but I like a new bike and felt the extras were worth the additional cost. Add a little discount, waived OTR charges and the OEM small engine bars, very pleased with the deal.

No pressure for Monday now, as they've a few to get out, but they'll PDI and drop off next week at some stage.

Craig are you getting the factory panniers?

Craig are you getting the factory panniers?

I wasn't planning to, being a light packer, I have a couple of rear bag options.

I do like the look of the SW Motech side cases @Fluffmeister has on his bike though. The OEM pannier fitting system is pretty nifty but naked, the holes do get on my nerves a little,

The Dusc cases are pretty good, light and waterproof. With the Pro racks you can just unclip the fasteners in 5 mins and take them off.

The racks and the duscs were still about £300 cheaper than the Guzzi panniers, and there’s 10% off with a few codes out there like “mancavemoto” from the YouTube channel will get you 10% off a Dusc kit with the Pro racks putting it at around £650 for the Panniers, racks, lock kit, pannier mount kit and locking fastener kit for the racks.

I’ve got the 33 litre Medium boxes as I try to pack light, but there’s no difference in price between the Large 41 litre and the medium.

A quick clean after my recent 3 week trip around Eastern Europe and the alps and racks popped off, can hardly see the remaining fittings.

Keep on coming back to this paint scheme and thinking what it would look like in the Alitalia colours ( swapping the blue for green) . Anybody a whizz with Photoshop)
