Well have been putting off taking a test ride on the Stelvio since last year, went down yesterday and took a demo bike out for an hour on a mixture of A , B and single track C roads.
Really liked it , loads of character, good brakes, neutral handling and more than enough go about it, the ergonomics were very good for me and it was comfortable.
My KTM 1090 is an excellent bike but just too focussed to take out for a potter around( it wants to be revved and going faster all of the time) and I am getting too old for that kind of bike.
Made up my mind to buy one so back at the shop got a value for my bike and had every intention to buy either the Stelvio edition or a new grey non rider assisrance model.
Then all of a sudden common sense kicked in and I thought " I have the 1250gsa for two up touring so do not really want to spend £16,000 plus on another toy"
Dealer had a 12 month old yellow bike in stock 6,000 miles but with full guzzi luggage, centre stand, engine bars, heated comfort seats, uprated aftermarket heated grips and a few other bits and bobs .
Bought it instead, would have bought Wrinkly's old custom painted bike but this one has more toys, hope first foray into Italian bikes go well
