My 1200 GSA 2013 red brake warning light has come on

It has done this befor . Last year on a long trip to Spain it was on for a couple of days , it then mysteriously cleared itself
It came back on a few days ago and is staying on !!

The ABS Is no longer working . I slammed the rear on and managed an impressive long black line and a bit of a wiggle ( haven't done that for ages)

I don't know the significance, if any, but the indicators no longer self cancel
Any suggestions are most welcome befor I toddle off to the dealers

Been out this morning .... and still there ... so a trip to dealer looking likely

is the speedo working??

I seem to remember they rely on the speed signal from the rear wheel?

Why not put a shout out to see if anyone has a GS911 to have a poke?

I think there is a post from MotoScot about repairing these yokes Ride in Ride out

I've had rear sensor problems recently and while I was digging around on forums to check it out there were a number of things that came up to check (easy checks to do)

1. Check your battery connectors that they are clean (may be linked with indicators)
2. Check the rear brake light connection - fault here may lead to the warning (may be linked with indicators going off too)
3. Clean the area around the rear sensor

I am far from an expert in these things but it sounds like a loose connection somewhere to me

As already mentioned, check the speedo, my rear wheel speed sensor failed and lit up the brake warning light, speedo behaviour was intermittent, I think it was clever enough to start using the front wheel sensor if the rear was playing up. The self cancelling also tales account of speed so that suggests wheel sensor too. I got a replacement sensor from a newly crashed / broken RT - same sensor, although a longer wire so it just needed an extra loop to take the slack. My gs911 reported it as "implausible rear wheel speed reported" or something similar, so I suspect it was flaking out rather than completely broken.

Thanks men
The speedo seems to be OK
I will have a poke about and clean up tomorrow

Pleased I got a new MOT last week
I hear the fault light is a fail
.......... But where I take it .... I doubt it
