So you actually asked the BMW rep - bollocks. I am buying a new RT because my bike is a 2014 and I've had it for many years and put 18k on it, so I decided to get another bike, no ego, just personal choice so fcuk off

18k in 5 years? Maybe try riding more, it’ll do wonders for your mood. :D

Should have been clearer, I bought the bike when it was two years old, so I've done 18k in just over two years on that bike and over the same period 16k on blood bikes :) Not a lot of time to do much more mileage

£11850....... triple black, 2017, FSH, all the toys.....plus free tank bag...BARGAIN.........26000 mls
Hold on to your 2017 R1200 Euro4 GSA's

Pre-TFT, Shit-Can, Hayes..

Post-Gearbox upgrade, Brembo, cush drive...

All you need now is a decent retro Analogue clock set, that you can see in all sunlight angles, and a proper old fashioned reliable fixed cam setup that won't shit the bed one day on tour.

You'll have upgraded to a real nice bike then :D

I had one , and now find the TFT clear in all situations , unlike the analogue . Great engine , gearbox etc , yet to shit on me unlike 2 engines from the 1200 lol.
You want one really …...

Haha, I do want one.

But I'm going to wait, pay off my Africa Twin first..... :D

I wonder what has changed since launch. They must have done 1000s of miles during testing and then you have all the demo bikes that have been in dealers since Oct and only now are bikes starting to have these issues. Unless of course its been kept quiet :)

The Mk1 version of most manufactures models are tested by the first early adopters.

This is like life in general.

Some people get married to a wife that har been "tested and used before". Others takes the risk and marries a "virgin".
Some people then learn that the "virgin" was anything but such a description, and turned into a nasty creature as well. For others, it worked out well.

But history has shown that the marked for the virgins is never ending. It seems like humans don't want to learn from history. In fact, they see it as part of the thrill of life….

The best model to buy is always the Mk2...

The Mk1 is the beta tester, the manufacturer saves money by using the buyer to find any problems.

The Mk2 has all the problems sorted out.

The Mk3 is when the bean counters move in and introduce cost cutting.

Just got back home on my April 2017 MK2..:D pure joy no leaks, however no Nav 6, my own fault should have turned it off completely after last upgrade......:blast

Thats the most annoying bug on the Nav VI.

I charge mine on USB for an hour before the ride.... gives it a fighting chance to work

Might have seen you this morning, I was in to pick up my new GSA HP.

Didn't get the bike further than the front door. Engine warning message came up twice during the delivery process. Bike returned to the workshop, and me sent home with a demo.

Wife and kids waiting for me to return home with my nice shiney new 60th birthday present. Disappointed to say the least.

Can't fault Laura and the team at Motorad Central. There was not much more they could do.

After issues getting insurance for the bike (BMW Insurance withdrew cover 2 days ago because they had misquote" me), and now this, I'm hope that the bike isnt jinxed. :blast

Been out playing on Motorad Centrals 1250 demo on Sunday. (Couple of hundred miles up to Tyndrum, over to Inveraray and back home via Stirling)

Picked up my 1250 on Saturday afternoon. Returned to dealer after 52 miles after another warning came up."Fault in engine control. Onward journey possible. Ride carefully to next specialist workshop".

After diagnosing problem with side stand switch, switch was replaced, but then bike needed a software update. "Could take up to 4 hours', so demo bike for the rest of the weekend. Hopefully my new bike will finally see the inside of my garage tomorrow (Tuesday).

We are here again , I’m a beta tester but it does not bother me as you could be dead tomorrow .
Some worry so much about little things , enjoy life and leave the ones alone that do take risks.

I totally agree.
Some people worry too much about small stuff. I some time wonder how they go about to get their haircut, considering the risk for being decapitated. :beerjug:

Brakes are hardly small stuff........................:yikes:yikes:yikes:yikes

Funny, isn’t it? You’d think dodgy brakes would be taken seriously, but oh no, the bike is still awesome :blast

You can see it on the headstones “He loved his bike, shame the brakes didn’t work” :D
