That's absolute shit, good luck with getting it sorted. Will follow this thread with interest as I was intending to check out one of these new Guzzi's next year

Feel for you DING-DONG, been in similar situation myself with both bikes and cars, never had any problems with the dealers concerned though, they know reputation is key and they are on a very sticky wicket so should offer full refund with no issues. Please let us know how things work out, good luck with it.

Appalling service from the dealer by the sounds of it. There’s not many Guzzi dealers about as it is and I would imagine another one is about to be let go? Guess it will depend on their sales figures?

I love my Guzzis but only the older ones. The newest one I owned was an 06 Breva 1100, which was fantastic tbh, and now I just have 2 V50’s 1979 and 1980. Both have less issues than your brand new one has!

Good luck with your case.

I’ve not got the v5 yet as it was only registered yesterday and the invoice doesn’t say what the engine number is.
I've just checked my last 3 Invoices for new Guzzis. All of them quote engine, frame, and vin numbers. I'm also starting to think the engine has been out of this bike.

Really disappointing - not something I've had to deal with but I can imagine the ar#e ache of having to go back to them after getting a brand new bike - which should be exciting and fun . I hope they are reasonable with you, it doesn't do them or Piaggio any favours if it goes badly. Try to look at the positives - its a stonkin bike and once you're through this it'll be fantastic to get out on the road.

That is a disgrace im guessing it wasnt cheap either. Personally I would tell them to stick it and get your money back. Good Luck.

And gone into the another, because of the corrosion being noticed by another punter on his (possibly) say green bike? Has the (possible) green bike been done as a “waranty” job?
Dealer then plonked corroded engine into Ding-Dongs bike and delivered it in the dark two days before actual handover day, hoping he would not notice?

I’d be checking engine oil colour, 1 mile bike should have crystal clear oil in it, even a slight colour difference would suggest that the engine has been previously used, even for a short while say 600 miles and replaced at first service?

Ultimately we will never know the truth unless dealer does tell it to ding dong. Which he will not hear, as dealer is not obliged to tell him his “trade secrets”

Must admit, the more photos I see of this bike, the more it looks as though that engine's been swapped out due to the none-aligned bolts and corrosion and the pi** poor attempt at re-spraying the engine casings a different shade of silver to try and mask it. There's no way that's a factory applied finish. Be interesting to see what the dealer has to say about it.

Received a call @ 10:30am it’s the owner of msc whom repeatedly apologised, they are coming to collect it tomorrow morn

I did ask if the engine has been out he said not whilst it was with them.

Glad they are willing to collect it, presumably for a full refund or another bike, that you will see coming out the crate.

Hmm that's difficult to believe....

That's piss poor, for starters
If they open at 8.30am, I would have expected a call by 9.15am at the latest

That’s a tough decision because I love the look of it but I don’t want issues especially when a few other have had paint issues.

The engines aren’t powder coated like the gs and many other bikes, they are just wet painted.
