If you can find one from a R850RT that's the best option FINAL DRIVE I=32:10=3,20
The 850GS is a bit low The 1100GS is a bit high but the R850RT is right between the 2
I bought a brand new one a few years back and it's still in the box
If i was going for a all rounder that would be my choice
Offroader 850GS road 1100GS

Low footpegs made up.



Subframe mostly made up.



Few more brackets to make up. For seat, indicators etc then polish all the weld areas.
Need to brush up on my tig welding, since starting to wear glasses I can't seem to see a thing with reflections





Made up brackets for on the frame ready for the central shock mount.



Anyway its a slow process but getting there slowly

Just working on front end ideas. Had part of a rear subframe i made wrong (bent it backwards) I poped it on the front just playing about and sort of liked it Will obviously have to remake it.
I have a large Hella lamp I have converted inside to take a h4 bulb.
Screen is from a bandit 600, its knackered but I can find another easy enough.

Not sure , but dont want to go down the hpn fairing style as every one has those.

Had thought about twin lights but I dont ride in the dark well not very often. Made up a new shaped frame which I think looks nice.
I'm going to build a carbon screen for on the top of the frame I think. Will make up a much more square aluminium mold first so I can see what that looks like

So I made up something a bit different. Firstly out of cardboard and gaffer tape, then today made a steel one i can fill and make a fiber glass mould. It's a bit different and wasn't sure at first as it was too square, but after rounding off the edges the more I look at it the more its grown on me.

The end result will hopefully be a carbon version

Trying to build something that will house the dash and satnav. Still working on ideas. It's hard to make something that doesn't look the same as a hpn fairing. Being carbon it won't make any difference to a bike screen in accident perspective. Most bikes now have some sort of tower in front of your face these days.

I'd invisaged an enduro shroud and oval race plate on this, a single daytime (non led) running light with stone guard on one side of the bars and brush type handguards to finish it off.
I'll get the etchasketch out and draw it what's in my head.

Actually had a bit more of a play around today and come up with something I like by adjusting what I had made.
Cut the lip back as Kenny suggested but also added some ribs down the front. Got a coat of high build primer on it and flatted down. Will have to add a top coat of 2 pac now as the release agent for the mold will stick to the primer.

It's something I can do again at a later date If I like it but I'm happy for now

I was thinking of this era of Dakar Rally, simple but works. Dakardantan is a great source of inspiration.

Few more brackets made up and the strengthening for the front of the frame done. Tank brackets welded on front and rear an the mounting points for the top shock mount.

Looking for a 1100 gs shock if anyone has anything lying about please.( Even if its knackered) I can get this all finished off then
