Build time....

Bit of a standstill with this recently. Got my Nova sorted and agreed. Managed to get a dating certificate.
Sent the documents to the Dvla on Friday to register it.
It's ready to strip it back down and Powdercoat the frame, but last time they wanted to inspect the bike so I'm trying to leave it in one piece.

In the meantime I've sourced a set of black closed cartridge forks and rebuilt them. A 25mm spacer added internally to lower them to 275mm travel and some 6.2 kg fork springs in both legs to get the sag correct.

Bit of time today so I made up a billet adjustable gear change leaver also.

Had a bit of an issue with the rear shock i built the bike around also.
It was a bitubo unit from an r1150gs. It was in need of a service but when I went to get the bits they were now unobtainable.
I managed to shorten a Wilburs shock i had spare from a hp2 enduro. That is now on the bike also 😀

So I spoke to a couple of seat builders last week and they are taking orders for October and November 🙈

Bought some material and dragged the Mrs sewing machine out of the attic.

Just a quick check in the bike to see what it looks like. Just need to heat and stretch it now.
Drill a load of holes in the carbon base and I will pop rivet it on the same as they do with the Corbin seat bases. Staples won't work on this as its too hard.

Ok so bike is stripped back down and off for powdercoating tomorrow.

Engine and gearbox are out.

These have done 13,000 kilometres so approx 8000 miles.
Is there anything you would be checking or changing while out ?

Going to pull the sump and check for sludge, pop on a new gasket.
Also I have the Hpn oil cooler. Does anyone know which filter i need to go back in. The bendy one came out of it, is this correct?
Thanks 👍

I'd say so.
I believe the bendy version is available to make it easier to fit when crash bars/full fairing are in use but I'd still use it given that it must resist crushing better (which can apparently be an occasional issue on starting up after an oil/filer change)
Bike looks great, can't fault it. I even like the headlight fairing - normally I can't stand the angular HPN style but carbon makes all the difference...

Airhead oil filters

OX35 - Straight rigid filter for bikes without oil coolers

OX36 - Bendy filter for bikes with an oil cooler

OX37 - Bendy filter for bikes without an oil cooler.

You will also need the correct inner pipe to go with the oil cooler (ie the long inner pipe)

Thanks For that. It came with it fitted and has the long pipe with it. Was just making sure I had the correct filter to go back in 👍

Well after a lot of blood, sweat, tears, trapping my fingers, swearing lots, talking to myself and even answering to my own rants... I have finally finished. It even runs and rides 😁

Thanks all for the kind and helpful comments along the way.

I shall leave you with a few pictures and stop annoying you all 😬

Oh and by the way...

I have a load of original bits that need something doing with...
Anyone got an old knacker they want to sell ?
I can see a new project on the horizon 😂😂🙈
