Standard bulb couldn't be worse, particularly when servo brakes go on. Lidls are selling 50% extra bulbs this week at 2 for a fiver that aren't noticeably brighter but at least don't more or less switch off when the right lever is touched

55 Watts through a clear lens will transmit more visible light than through a blue filter....:nenau

I've got a PIAA exrtreme white sport bulb (H7) for £25 if you are interested :mmmm

after coming from a vfr v-tec with lights that would light up the moon, I do find that the gs head light is a'kin to a candle, but at least it makes you ride a bit slower when you can not see quite so well where you want to go at night:jibber

I agree about the VFR headlights, they're brilliant!
Why oh why can't BMW copy them???

Wot Les says, I think.

I bought two '+80%' bulbs and one went afer 400 miles, the other after 2000 miles (2 months of 1 hour daily trips to work and back ) £40 odd quid every 2 months is a bit poor, IMO

As soon as I can afford it I'm going HID......

Used the +50% bulbs on my last GS. I guess as the filament were running hotter they used to pop quite quickly. I will be putting my money into HID on my new bike. Les is showing me the way :thumb2

Anyone have any experience of these....worth changing the standard bulb for them?

Got them this week and fitted them. They seem brighter but "colder" if you can understand what I mean. The standard bulbs had a warmer more yellow glow to their light.

On balance they seem brighter in dry conditions on dark country roads. Have not had a chance to see how they perform in wet conditions. A reasonably cheap way of trying to upgrade the GS standard glow worms!!

Definitely a full HID kit would be better, but you pay your money and make your choice. I've no complaints about these bulbs.:thumb
