Camille's big rebuild

Yep

That's pretty much it. Due to the state of the originals I could only use the ends and the perforated pipe in the middle. I've put silencer matting around the middle pipe and lots of it. The inner double layer is lockwired in position as experience has taught me if you don't it'll all end up squashed at one end of the exhaust. Just need some stainless button heads to secure the endcap now.
Should sound nice.

Erm

Don't know the od but the I'd is 82mm. The old parts dictated the size of the tube. Oh and their 300mm long.

Thanks again, I'm building a modified airhead project at the moment and need to make an exhaust system for it, stainless 90° elbows are available over here for 8 euros each, pipe for about 20 euros/mtr.
I can make a couple of silencers like yours myself, in stainless steel, I'd prefer to make them rather than buy them as they can be tailored more exactly for what I need.
Still not too sure they're going to be very quiet! Might be another use for some old socks!

If you want

I've some spare tube. It's ally cold drawn. I had to buy six metres pf the stuff so have a bit left over:D

MotoGS could you start a thread showing what you've done or what you're doing? The more build threads the better:thumb2 It sounds like you have some pretty sound ideas.

owwwww shin.y

Got the tank back today from the painters, very shiny in 3 coats of clear. Put the bmw decals on and put the taps n caps back on so all finished now.
Still waiting for the shocks:blast so can't do much else other than mess about trying to make a clock mount. anyone have a spare oil temp gauge they don't want:augie

Thanks rob

That looks fantastic

Its coming together, i'm a bit worried i won't have her ready for the weekend which is a concern but i'm hoping if i get the shocks then the actual assembly shouldn't take too long. may need your help with wiring if your up for free beer and thai food:augie and i'll be alot more use than some gser's:augie. The wiring is just headlight and brake light plus the usual engine electrics.
I'm just trying to write out my list of nuts and bolts so i can get all those ready before hand, i'm now in what they call the boring phase of the rebuild:D

In all honesty Si I'm going to be struggling to do anything before the Wee Kend. I'm away for a couple of weekends in may, have to deliver the RS to London for the French guy who's bought it and still need to rebuild my mates R100 and find the time to rebuild my own gearbox. Of course your Bro still needs some bits doing on Bertha so that he can go. If I don't get a new seal in my gearbox I'll not be going myself :(

no probs mate

if the worst comes to the worst i'll trailer her down semi built just for show. i'm still hoping to get her finished but the clocks ticking and theres still alot of fabrication to be done.

Today i's been

Talking to some specialist glass fiber guys who can make a replica rear mudguard, headlight Fairing and fake underseat tank so if it all can be done at the right price I'll go ahead and get it done. I know the rear looks ok but in my eyes it's just not right. Mind you the original rear mudguard was an ugly looking thing:augie
Should get all my nuts n bolts tomorrow:clap
