Clocks stolen...

What news, Wndy Chuffer?
Your success (or otherwise) will be of interest to your fellow biker who has just lost his in Finsbury Circus.

Lets just say I am being looked after by BMW HQ very nicely. New clocks still on back order (4mths now FFS). So bought used from reputable breaker (Motorworks) as had no choice. Booked in for programming on Tues at dealer (used unit just plugs in and works but odometer flashes). Mileage is mastered on ECU but also stored in clocks. If there is a discrepancy then reading on clocks flashes. Will update on Tues sometime. Finsbury circus chap has a PM from me.

No he didn't stop trading the tea leaf never reported him
He just told all his friends stay well clear
And they all lived happily ever after
Proper justice
So let's get this clear- your friend actually crippled the thief for life? You think this law of the jungle - lynch mob action is admirable and preferable to letting the law take its course? This sounds like an urban legend and a load of bollocks.

Seeing as they so simple to remove just take them with you when parked for a long periods on the road in the same location. Only takes the same amount of time as removing your GPS.

May also confuse the other scrote prowling around who intends to ride off on your highly prized bike. Two birds one stone and all that......... :D

I like to bring a few fags and a bit of booze back, helps pay for the trip. Might have to look at clocks this year if they,er that easy to lift.:D

yes believe it or not
What would you do if it was your buisness invite him to the Christmas party
Happens all over
He isn't my friend too scary for me
But then again I don't go pinching Harley engines
And yes it is a jungle out there
As far as I know they all lived happily ever after
Soap box away

Could always lock wire the mounting lugs. Easy to do and although like most security stuff wont stop the determined tealeaf would maybe stop the quick easy removal.

Wasted trip to dealer today. The Technician plugged the bike into the BMW Magic Box, worked out that an "order code" is required to be entered to allow programming of the clocks. This can only be generated by BMW HQ. Not amused. Will have to go back again once the magic number has been generated. Hey ho.

Just heard - BMW HQ are refusing to issue the magic number. Apparently they are worried that the programming will fek the bike up completeley. Genius. Quite how it is possible to design a system that is so fragile is beyond me. Now as new clocks cannot be supplied (no delivery date, even though been on back order since Oct 2013), I'm a bit stuck. Who'd buy a used bike in this state?
