Question.

Can I bring the bike to TDC using the shaft alone? I kinda know the answer - no! I need the rear wheel on to get the torque to move the pistons right? As in 6th gear? Could I advance it using the alternator bolt under the front cover? I seem to remember doing that on my 1150. Be a much better use of my time tomorrow if I could get the valves checked etc? Thankyou.

Little bollox! . I can use the slide hammer to take out the bearings tomorrow.

Take the plastic cover off the front of the engine, then use the nut on the crankshaft pulley to turn the engine.

Good man thanks. I was hoping it was still the same. I’ve made myself a tool to put in the back of the right cylinder head to hold it in the right spot. If the valves are in spec I’m not touching them.
