At the end of the day its 'whatever floats your boat' where a bike is concerned... To me the GS ticks more boxes than every other bike I've owned ( more than 50) and it suits me for what I want to use it for...
One of the things I don't plan on using it for is stuffing it under an R1 piloted by a club racer at a track day......and then tell everyone about it......
Got out of that mindset around 14 years of age
What I do like is the fact the GS will carry me, a pillion and luggage for 10 days around europe, without aches and pains ( apart from the seat which is crap.. 150 miles today and I feel like I've been violated

And for some reason feel they have to justify their choice of bike. It's the nature of some humans...
