I see both the ContiTrailAttack 3 and the ContiRoadAttack 3 are available for the GS (19" Front).

Anyone tried both? I am looking for the best sporty road tyre, so thinking of the RoadAttack 3?

Sporty road tyre? I wouldn't recommend the RoadAttack 3.

Slow turning tyre that feels ponderous. The rear especially. Great for going in a straight line, and it has huge amounts of grip from a silica rich compound with decent feel. But it’s not a sports tyre imho.

Best tyre for rate of turn, feel and pushing harder into the bends (if sports is your thing) is the PST2. Less outright grip compared to the latest compounds from Michelin (PR5) , but it is hugely confidence inspiring.

PR5 is great too. Even faster turning (too much?) but slightly numb compared to PST2. Grippier tho at expense of mileage.

Good points made.
Agree the RA3 is as you describe took mine off after 600 miles as got fed up with the vagueness of the feel , however the TA3 , different story , great set of boots can be pushed really hard and turn well and great feed back and stable in all conditions ( cant comment on the PST2 ) the PR5 , brilliant but made of chocolate as you can see by previous posts .
For me the TA3 would be tyre of choice at the moment as it rewards , give great feed back , surefooted and can be pushed as hard as sports rubber , a great addition to a Gs/A ridden mainly on the tarmac mileage not bad either around 2.5 to 3 k win win ( area dependant )

I have TA3 on my 1250 and have no complaints in respect of grip or handling. They're just as good as Michelin Pilot Road 4's, but hopefully less puncture prone. I can't comment on PR5.

I actually found that PR4's turned in slightly slower than the OE Trail Attack 2's and Metzler Tourance Next's on my 1200 GS LC, so required a bit of counter steering on twisty roads.

I've got TA3's on the KTM 1290 SA....love them, can't fault them @ all & would def have them again.

Had the RA3's and they were very good too, but did wear a little more quickly than the TA3's.

PR4's were also very good (I didn't experience a puncture) but wore more quickly than the TA3's.

Personal recommendation.....TA3's :D

got the ra3s on my vstrom 650. they are okay and i'm still experimenting with pressure settings. they do seem to grab tracks in the road but do turn in fast enough. i think that they work best with the pressures at the top end of the scale.

Had my ca3s for a year now and great tyre, great stability and turn in and no problems with quick direction changes, rear has done 6.5k and good for 1k more i think, great in the wet also,i know were are all differnt but they suit me fine.

ok, i was out today on the bike with tyre pressures at 35/40psi. seems alot better than the rcommended 33/36. they are still inclined to grab corrugations running in the direction of travel, noticeable but not worrying. so far i'm happy with the ra3s.

Not sure what bike you're running but my 1250GSA is 36/42 recommended, so 33/36 seems a bit low?

I'm on a vstrom650 handbook says 33/36.

I would say that the pressures that we're quoting are only applicable to the GS, a V-Strom will have completely different ones since it's a different weight. Comparing apples and oranges really.

Got RA3s on my GS, run them at the pressures given in the manual, 2.9 & 2.5 bar

I personally think they are brilliant tyres
Me too. Shop fitted Trail Attack by mistake at first. I thought they made the bike hard to turn. Getting good mileage from the RoadAttacks as well.

don't get me wrong, i think they are a great tyre. just a matter of getting the pressure right. looks like suzuki's recommendations are for lightweight asian riders. as said previously i am now running them at 35/40 and that seems fine.
