You couldn't make it up,shocking bad luck! At least the rider got away with it and the dealer was up front about it and made no attempt to bodge the bike up.You will have earned your new bike when it does arrive,in the meantime test ride the fleet!

They might not want named ,after all they need time to do a bodge repair on a crashed bike and flog it off to some unsuspecting punter as a brand new pre registered delivery mileage only bike

This certainly doesn't sound like that sort of dealer. They are out there though.
